Rory Coyne is a well rounded and talented Chicago realist painter.  Not only he has control and mastery of technique but he also delivers captivating metaphors that engage the viewer into a conversation with his/her own identity. Over the years, I have enjoyed his evolving half human, half animal compositions. His portrayal to our accepted or denied “otherness” is embodied in the corporal mutation of the flesh.
